Apple Business Connect
Also called: apple maps listing, apple business register, apple business, apple maps place card
Apple Business Connect is Apple's free tool for claiming and managing a business's place card, the listing that shows your hours, photos, and actions across Apple Maps, Siri, Messages, and Wallet. In April 2026 it merged into the unified Apple Business platform, with existing place cards migrated automatically.
Apple launched Business Connect in January 2023 so any business could claim the interactive card Apple surfaces when someone searches Maps, asks Siri for directions, or taps a location in Messages. You register with an Apple ID at a self-service site, verify ownership, then edit the card directly: logo, header image, hours, photos, and custom action buttons like Order, Reserve, or Book.
What lives on a place card
Two features do most of the local-marketing work. Showcases let you post time-bound offers and promotions (seasonal menu items, discounts) straight onto the card. Action buttons route customers into partners like OpenTable or Instacart without leaving Maps. Apple also gives free insights on how people find and interact with the card, including views, searches, and taps on actions.
The important 2026 change: Apple consolidated Business Connect, Business Manager, and Business Essentials into one platform called Apple Business, which launched April 14, 2026 across 200+ countries and regions. Claimed locations, place-card content, and photos migrated automatically, so the workflow moved rather than disappeared. If you hit older guides, “Business Connect” and “Apple Business” now point at the same place-card management surface.
Why bother when Google Maps is bigger? On iPhone, Maps and Siri default to Apple’s index, and many iOS users never open Google Maps. An unclaimed card still exists; Apple just fills it with third-party data you do not control.
How it affects your traffic
For a local business, a claimed and optimized place card is how you capture iPhone users who search or navigate without ever touching Google. An unmanaged card leaks trust: wrong hours, no photos, no action buttons, and Apple filling the gaps with data pulled from other sources. Our Local SEO service claims and maintains your Apple Business (formerly Business Connect) card alongside your Google Business Profile, keeps name, address, and phone details consistent across both, and uses Showcases and action buttons to turn Maps views into calls, bookings, and visits.
