Bing Places for Business is Microsoft's free tool for creating and managing a business listing that shows in Bing search results and Bing Maps. It is Bing's counterpart to Google Business Profile, publishing your name, address, phone, hours, and photos.
What the listing actually controls
Your Bing Places entry holds the same core fields as a Google listing: business name, address, phone, hours, categories, website, and photos. On October 3, 2025 Microsoft rebuilt the product and moved it from bingplaces.com to bing.com/forbusiness, adding a cleaner dashboard, bulk editing, and real-time status updates.
The practical shortcut is importing from Google Business Profile. Rather than retyping everything, you pull your verified GBP data across, and Microsoft says it improved that flow to preserve name, hours, and contact details. If your Google profile is already verified, the import often gets your Bing listing live quickly. You can also set it to re-sync on a schedule so a change made on Google carries over instead of the two profiles drifting apart.
A built-in Recommendation Tool checks listing health and flags gaps: missing photos, no website, absent social links, or segment-specific items like a restaurant menu. Microsoft has also said it is extending business listings toward Bing Maps and Copilot, so an accurate profile increasingly feeds AI-generated local answers, not only the classic results page.
