Google's Local Finder is the expanded, scrollable list of local businesses that opens when you click "More places" (or "More businesses") under the local pack in Google Search. It shows a ranked map-plus-listings view that continues past the pack's top three, with ratings, hours, and distance.
Local Finder vs. the local pack and Maps
The local pack is the compact box of three business listings pinned near the top of a local SERP. Click More places and Google opens the Local Finder: the same query run against a longer set of results, drawn as a map beside a list you can scroll. The pack’s three are usually the top three inside the Finder, so the Finder is where you learn whether you actually sit at position 4, 9, or 20, detail the pack never shows.
It is not Google Maps. Maps is the standalone navigation product. The Local Finder lives inside Search and is built for business discovery against the exact query and location a person typed. Both surfaces rank on the signals Google publishes for local results: relevance (how well your Business Profile matches the query), distance (how far you are from the searcher), and prominence (how well known you are, including reviews and links). Google states plainly that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.
For measurement this matters. Rank trackers that watch only the three-pack miss most of the story. The Local Finder is where you read true local visibility, position by position, ideally across a geo-grid of search points rather than one.

Plenty of local searchers who skip the three pack keep scrolling into the Local Finder, so ranking fourth through tenth there still earns calls, directions, and clicks the pack denies you.
